How can I get approved for a used auto loan when I have a repossession on my credit report?
About 4 or 5 years ago I had a car repossessed. Now I am trying to apply for a used auto loan and have been told because I have very little credit established and have a repossession on my report that I can't qualify for an auto loan even with a co signer. I was told that even if I put down a lot of money on the car, it's likely that I still would not qualify. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get a loan for a car. I have to have a car and I just don't know what to do?

have a middle credit score of 560. I would like to purchase a used car that is 19,400 and I have about 10,000 to out down this is a $9000 down payment and trade in . I do not know much about auto financing and would like to know if I could qualify for a loan. I only make about $25,000 a year and I am a graduate student, but I am thinking that my large down payment will make me a better candidate. I have tried using compound and simple interest. My total amount to pay keeps coming up larger than what the bank says. Will getting a different co-signer for an auto loan help?
My wife and I purchased a home about 3 months ago. We just moved into the area. We are very comfortably making the payments, we both have decent income, etc. I wanted to finance $15,000 for a truck that I am interested in. I was the primary and my wife was the co signer spouse on the loan. We were declined at many places for 2 reasons 1 The new, large, and recent mortgage we took out 2 we have not been at our jobs for longer than 2 years. Our credit scores are both above 720. I mean it really is embarrassing that I can't get approved for the loan. If I were able to get someone else to co sign the loan with me, is there any chance I would be approved? Do they really factor in the cosigner's credit, job history, and income as much as the primary signer? Do I have any other options of trying to buy this truck? I really do need it for my contracting business.

My credit score is about 673, the dealership said my interest rate would be 8.74% for a 13000 loan 60 months term..Should I look for a different lender to see if I can get a lower rate or is this rate the dealership gave me sound about right? How much would I end up paying if I took this rate?
How does a pre-approved auto loan work?
I am currently pre approved for a loan through a bank to buy a car, I'm putting a down payment in cash to the dealer, but I do not want to finance with them since I already have financing through a bank. Does the dealer work directly with my bank to get the rest of their money? How should I tell them that I'll put money down but don't want to finance with them. I had read that you're not supposed to tell this to the dealer, but what can I do? I know some banks provide customers with a check to write directly to the dealer, but since I'm pre approved I'm supposed to put a down payment, bring my invoice to my bank, then they will work with the dealer, is this correct?I am not looking to get a loan, I keep seeing posts about people being lenders, which is not my question
